Hassocks Meetups

At the Thrive Meetup in Hassocks, on the morning of Tuesday, 30 April, you will have the chance to make meaningful, new connections with other female founders, freelancers, creatives and changemakers, through a series of facilitated exercises which will not only spark insightful conversations, but will also enable you to share your expertise and experience.

What can you expect at this event?

During the Thrive Meetup, you will spend most of your time talking to other female founders and women in business in small groups, which you will move around during the meetup.

  • You will receive some conversation starter prompts, as well as some business tools to help you reflect on your business.
  • You will have the chance to discuss your business challenges, explore potential solutions to those challenges, and seek feedback on any new ideas you have.
  • You will be able to share your experience and expertise as a female founder, freelancer, change maker, coach or business support practitioner.

There will be hot drinks, water and healthy snacks to keep you going throughout the morning.

How will you feel by the end of the Thrive Meetup?

By the end of the meetup:

  • You will feel part of a community - having connected with other women in business from Sussex.
  • You will feel energised - having had a chance to reflect on your business challenges and/or share your experience and expertise.


Who will host the Thrive Meetup?

Clare Griffiths FRSA will host the Thrive Meetup. Clare is an award-winning entrepreneurship educator, business mentor and social entrepreneur who has over 20 years of experience offering business support and advice to startups and small businesses from a range of industries in London and the South East.

In 2018, Clare founded Thrive - an impact-led business on a mission to bring together female founders, freelancers and change makers so that they gain the knowledge, clarity and community they need to thrive in business.

Why women only?

This meetup is open to anyone who identifies as being a woman or a non-binary person.

The Founder of Thrive, Clare Griffiths FRSA, wants to address the gender imbalance in the small business world. In the UK, in 2022, only 20% of businesses with no employees were led by women (Source: Small Business Survey by the Department for Business & Trade).

When is the Thrive Meetup? How do I book my place?

The Thrive Meetup will take place on Tuesday, 30 April from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Talking Hands Coffee Shop & Studio in Hassocks.

Tickets for the Thrive Meetup are £20 per person (excluding the Eventbrite fee), and include a hot drink, water and healthy snacks.

Where is the Thrive Meetup in Hassocks?

For those who are unfamiliar with the venue, Talking Hands Coffee Shop & Studio is brilliantly located next to the Hassocks train station and car-park. If you are travelling from Brighton, Hassocks is only 8 minutes away on the train!

It is great to be able to partner and support another social enterprise! Talking Hands was set up to break down the barrier between deaf and hearing communities, and give the opportunity to families of deaf and hearing children to meet.
